NEVER FORGET 2/18/2004 -  One year ago tonight is the night that dad passed away.  I wish that we were throwing a big party to remember him, that we were holding a benefit concert for emphysema patients, or a special tribute was in the works.  However, this year we are doing nothing big. I am just looking at pictures and talking with my mom and friends about him.  I miss my dad and it is still unpleasant to think about his passing.  I still want to thank everyone again that was at the funeral, who supported my family, the friends and family that made a difference.  Thank you for helping us when we needed it.   Thanks to all of you for letting us cry when we needed to and for lending that helping hand when no one else would.  Life goes on, I know, but we still carry a lot of unpleasant things with us.  I will never forget my father and I want everyone who was a fan of his music to keep him alive in your hearts and memories.  I met a friend the other day who never got to see my dad play in concert.  He will never know what it was like to watch him perform.  He will never get to see my dad joke around on stage with the band and audience, or how he would keep tuning his guitar after the lights hit it. He will never get to know what a difference it was to hear him live, as opposed to recorded.  I want him to be able to see Johnny PayCheck on stage and show him what it was like back-stage and on the tour-bus.  I want to show him how proud I was of my dad and what he did.  I can tell him my stories of what road life is like and its hardships.  I can tell him how I carried oxygen bottles around for my dad when he got sick, or how I stayed up for nights on end in hotel rooms to make sure he was OK and could make it to the next show.  I can tell him what it was like to be a little kid on the road with a world famous father, even though I had no idea my dad was famous; to me, he was just a dad who worked a lot.  I remember when we would go fishing he would make the funniest noises when he got a bite and would practically jump out of his chair to pull them in.  I have a lot of memories I can share with my new friend; I can keep my father's memory alive that way.  I hope others find a way to keep his memory alive--through listening to his music, teaching the younger generations about him, or just telling people about how you felt about him and his music.  Keep his memory alive.

At the Grammy's 2/10/04 - Hope some of you got to see the Grammy's honoring dad and other musicians that passed away last year.

People Remember Johnny PayCheck 10/2/03 - It looks like this month we may have the start of a monthly editorial about Johnny PayCheck and how he influenced the music world.  A long time friend and artist who performed with my father will be writing the articles every month.  I will keep the artist a secret until we get everything rolling.  He will be interviewing all kinds of performers that worked with, spent time with, and were influenced by my father Johnny PayCheck.  This should be a great chance for all of you to get to know my father and his music even more.  This was the type of thing I was hoping would happen with the web-site.  People coming together to enjoy my fathers' history and music.  I also hope to have a discussion board in the near future ready for the web-site.  Stay tuned for more.

Johnny Cash - I am sorry to announce that the Cash family has to mourn the loss of another this year.  The PayCheck family sends its deepest respects and sorrow felt tears to the Cash family.  We are so sorry for your loss.  I would ask everyone one out there to say a prayer for the Cash family if you believe in the powers of prayer.  Others please just take a moment of silence in respect.

REMEMBER 9-11-01 - 9/11/03  Please take time today to remember what America is all about.  That this is the best country on earth.  We may have some rough edges but who doesn't?  I put my flags at half-mast today and spent the day lost in remembrance of that terrible day.  I will awake in the morning with pride in our country and sorrow in my heart for the lives lost to keep this way of life we enjoy.  Support your local fire departments and our troops.

Johnny PayCheck Homepage is gone!!! - 8/7/03 Looks like Marty Martel (my fathers previous manager) isn't doing much to keep Johnny PayChecks memory alive.  The Johnny PayCheck Homepage is gone!!!  During a redesigning of his talent page he threw out the old and made room for some new.  I guess if he can't make money at it why bother.  I guess that means I will work twice as hard to keep my fathers site on the web; so fans have a place to go.  Remember, I am making no money from this in any way to keep this site going, every dime comes out of my pocket.  This site is a labor of love for my father and his music.  However, Marty likes to say what a great friend he was of my fathers yet he cannot keep a memorial around for his late friend.  Don't worry Dad; I will make sure they remember.

We have reached 1000!!! - 7/27/03 The website has had over a thousand visitors now.  I leave and go to Cleveland and when I return 100 people have stopped by the website.  What a great surprise!!!  I am sure glad to see so many Johnny PayCheck fans and friends checking out the site.  Keep letting others know about the site and lets try to hit 5000 before the year is out.  Thanks again to everyone for your support, I know Dad would be proud.

Engaged To Be Married - 7/18/03  Looks like the PayCheck Clan is expanding next fall.  I'm getting married to the best woman I could ever know.  Can the world handle more PayChecks!!!  Will the world tolerate more PayChecks??? What will happen next?  Cats and dogs sleeping together????  Will my girl now get made fun of for her new last name as much as I did growing up with it (I once was asked if my dad invented the paycheck and I can not tell you how many people think my dad is Johnny Cash)???  Stay Tuned and find out more!!!

Reminder -TRIBUTE IN GREENFIELD, OH - 7/18/03  Looks like there is going to be a tribute to Dad at the Greenfield Wheels of Progress Festival on July 18th.  Starting around 7:30 there is going to be music, videos, and speakers.  I think I may try to attend this.  Greenfield, Ohio is where Dad grew up.  You can read more about it at this site http://www.coffeyweb.com/festival.htm

Welcome to Johnny PayCheck Music.com !

The PayCheck family is still mourning the loss of a great musician, husband, and father.  Johnny PayCheck passed away late in the night on the 19th of February.  My father, Johnny, suffered from emphysema and asthma and was unfortunately forced to remain in bed during the last few years of his life.  He fought a good battle for so very long.  I will always miss and love him.

The purpose of this site.

I want to keep my fathers memory alive and let his fans continue to cherish and enjoy his music.  The next generation of country music fans, and fans for years to come, should be exposed to his wonderful songs and his powerful voice.  Johnny PayCheck helped to lead the way for the outlaw presence in country music, he wrote heartbreaking songs, and he gave the little guy, the blue collar, the underdog a voice in the world.  Johnny PayCheck was and always will be a legend of country music.

I want this site to:

·         Provide a sounding block for the fans

·         Allow the PayCheck family voice to be heard

·         Give some insight into the country music world

·         Let fans know about future events

·         Give people a way to get in touch with the PayCheck family

·         Be a memorial to my father, Johnny, and his life long career

Please help in making my father's memory and music live on in the world.
